Description

Middleton Barn is a new barn conversion nestled within the middle of our working sheep and horse farm within walking distance of the pretty thatched village of Milton Abbas. The barn is furnished in a modern, comfortable style with a mezzanine floor and glass infilled staircase overlooking the large open plan sitting room with large wood burner. There is a modern decked area outside which is gated.

On entering the property you are met by a bright and airy open-plan kitchen/diner. The stylish kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. An inner hallway leads to a ground floor double bedroom with adjacent wet room, which has a shower and WC offering increased accessibility. Also leading off of the central hallway is a full height lounge with wood burner, TV and DVD making this the perfect place to unwind after a day spent exploring. Rising from the lounge is a staircase, opening onto a mezzanine floor and giving access to a king-size bedroom and a shower room, complete with shower and WC. A single bedroom is also on this floor, which has its own entrance and also interlinks with the king-size bedroom (with additional pull out bed available on request).

Venturing outside you will find a generous decked area with garden furniture and a BBQ, accessed via steps and a ramp. Located directly outside of the kitchen/diner and lounge, it’s the perfect spot for enjoying a meal outdoors. A utility area is available within adjacent farm buildings, with a washing machine, tumble dryer and boot/dog washing area. There is ample off-road parking within the farmyard surrounding the property.

The open plan nature of the barn makes it ideal for wheelchair users and those with increased accessibility needs. There is step free access into the barn and onto the outdoor enclosed decking area.

There is plenty of space to move around in the open plan kitchen and diner. The lounge area is also extremely spacious and the double height ceiling makes the room bright and airy.

Downstairs there is a double bedroom with adjacent wet room. The wet room features a roll-in shower and there are grab rails around the toilet and one in the shower area.

The further 2 bedrooms and bathroom are situated on the mezzanine level, which is accessed via a staircase.

Terrain Around Property:

Middleton Barn, at Fishmore Hill Farm, is situated on the top of a steep hill overlooking the village of Milton Abbas. Generally the area around the farm is concrete although a little unlevel. However for those interested the animals are very accessible.


Attractions

The situation is ideal for sightseeing around Dorset and the Jurassic coast, being approximately 30 minutes drive to the well-known Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. The local walking area is stunning with many footpaths starting just outside the farm gates.

- Dorchester and Blandford Forum are approximately 8 miles away with good basic shopping facilities and we have a small local store in Milborne St. Andrew 3 miles away.
- Local pubs are in good supply with the Hambro Arms in Milton Abbas, The Milton Arms in Winterborne Whitechurch and The Oak in Dewlish all serving delicious local specialities.
- Milton Abbey is just one mile away with the charming St. Catherines Chapel in the woods above. During the school holidays there is also a terrific tea room in the Abbey gardens.
- Kingston Lacey House and Gardens near Wimborne is approximately 10 miles away
- Dorchester is 8 miles away and has a well known Wednesday market
- Athelhampton House and Gardens
- Jurassic coast from Poole to Lyme Regis

Because of the quite remote location of this property, own transport would be recommended

Getting around the local area:

We are approximately 45 minutes from Bournemouth Airport and the local taxis from Blandford Forum are very reliable, however we are not an ideal location for those without transport of their own.
