Description

Willowbank Lodges nestle in a small hamlet bordering the Kennet and Avon canal in the heart of the Pewsey Vale in Wiltshire and are surrounded by beautiful countryside and stunning wildlife. The five luxury lodges offer self catered accommodation and have been recently built on a site previously used as a trout farm and in earlier years, as watercress beds. The log cabins have been constructed using Russian redwood timber from sustainable forests. They are thermally very efficient, being cool in the summer and warm in the winter, making a winter break a cosy and unique experience.

Bullrush Cabin - 2 bedrooms
With recently updated interiors including fun stripes and checks, bright rugs, squashy sofas, comfy beds and smart kitchens. Bullrush cabin has two bedrooms – master bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom and the other, larger bedroom (to allow a third bed if required) with its own separate spacious shower room. This bedroom has twin divan beds which can be joined to make a superking (6ft) bed (on request).

The cabins are entered via a side door accessed by a ramp suitable for wheelchair use and which leads into the utility room. Your car(s) can be parked directly next to the ramp for your convenience, particularly useful when carrying in heavy luggage or shopping. The utility room has a washer/drier, sink and pegs for coats. It also houses the hot water cylinder and broom cupboard and would be a useful and warm place for a wet dog! The utility room also leads into the internal hallway and from there you can either turn right to the bedrooms or left to the living room.

The dining tables can seat 4/5 people with the fifth chair positioned in the hallway. The room has windows on all three sides and there are French doors leading directly onto the covered veranda, from which there are two steps leading down onto the grassy areas (I do have a child gate which could be positioned in this gap to keep in a child or dog, if required).

Will the host be living at the property during a stay?

No (but vendor lives near site)

Accessibility

  • Lift
    • At least 80cm x 130cm (width x depth)

There is ramp access to Bullrush Cabin from the parking area.

The cabin is spacious with wooden floors, allowing for easy access throughout. There are two large bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. One of the bathrooms has grab rails throughout and a wheel-in shower with shower chair and Triton care shower. The sink is also low-hung.

Attractions

There are marvellous walks from the cabins, whether it is to the next village pub via the canal path, or to the local wetlands site, Jones's Mill or to Martinsell Hill to experience the panoramic views over the Pewsey Vale. The location is ideal for trips to Bath, Salisbury, London (from the local train station) and Oxford or for more local sorties to Avebury, Hungerford (well known for its antique shops), Marlborough (famous public school and has the widest high street in the country) and the charming market town of Devizes. Whatever time of year you book your cabin, there is always plenty of wildlife to see and lovely countryside to explore from your doorstep.
